The Mitch for Governor Campaign Committee wants to protect
the personal information you submit to us online. We have created this
privacy policy to help you understand when and how personal information
is collected, used, or disclosed.
Personal Information
Collecting Personal Information
As you might expect, we would like to collect a variety of personal
information about visitors to the MyManMitch Web site. "Personal information" is
that information that specifically identifies you ø your name, address,
telephone number, email address or information about activities directly
linked to you. For example, as you know, we collect personal information
about you when you register for our services, volunteer, submit a suggestion
or make a donation. The only personal information collected by us is
information you submit to us.
In addition, we will collect non-personal information regarding your
use of the Web site. We need to know what issues are important and
what parts of our Web site attract the most attention, so we want to
know where people go on the site.
When you make an online contribution to the Campaign, we collect
your personal information so we can comply with applicable federal
law. When you make an online donation, we must ask for your name, address,
daytime phone number, employer, occupation, and check or credit card
information. This information will not be shared with ANYONE.
How the Mitch for Governor Campaign Committee Uses Personal Information
We will use the personal information you give us to process your volunteer
information, process your comments, provide you with the services for
which you have registered, and to complete your donation. Specifically,
for example, we will contact you by using your email address in order
to confirm your online contribution. We also use personal information
to provide you, upon your request, with information via email regarding
events, resources, and issues that we think might interest you. If
you do not wish to receive such emails, every message will have a clear
and obvious place in the message where you can remove yourself from
our email list.
Disclosure of Personal Information
The Campaign will only disclose personal information with your consent
or as described in this section. The Campaign will not sell (exchange
information for any form of compensation) your personal information
to any third party.
We may share personal information with third parties as necessary
to complete a donation that you have initiated, perform a service on
our behalf (such as hosting the Site), process volunteer information
or fulfill a service you have requested. If you provide your explicit
permission when you volunteer with the Campaign, we may share such
information with the Republican Party.
Protecting Your Personal Information
We maintain a variety of physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards
to protect your personal information. We work to protect the security
of your personal information during transmission via the Site (when
you make a donation or register for our email list) by using Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.
The level of encryption is the industry standard level that banks use
to transfer funds.
More About Our Privacy Practices
Opting Out
Users may opt out of receiving emails from the Mitch for Governor Campaign
Committee at any time. All communications will have a clear and obvious
mechanism to choose not to receive further communications. Should you
opt-out of any communication, your name and e-mail address will immediately
be deleted from any and all databases that we maintain. Please note
that for legal and accounting purposes, contribution records and data
relating to contributors may be maintained in our database as required
by law.
